Door repairs and maintenance

We repair and maintain external, internal, sliding and bifold doors - both aluminium and timber joinery. Remedying stiffness, broken handles, hinges and locks, as well as correcting alignment issues for residential and commercial properties.

Solutions to common problems

  • Stiff sliding doors

Commonly associated with sliding doors/ranch sliders or bi-folds, ‘sticky’ or stuck doors can be a nuisance. We’ll get your doors gliding smoothly and quietly again - giving your sliding doors a new lease of life.

  • Replacement locks

We will fix or replace broken locks to ensure your residential or commercial property is secure and accessible again. We offer a variety of types and styles (including flush bolts, multi-point locking mechanisms and digital locks).

  • Scraping doors

Internal doors that scrape along new carpet, or front doors that catch on the frame are common issues that we will help to resolve. Timber doors can swell and expand throughout the seasons, but we will ensure your doors continue to work smoothly all year round.

  • Faulty door closers

Door closers are common in commercial properties - they reduce slamming by slowing the door down and gently closing behind you. Unfortunately these mechanisms can break down over time, but we can help to repair or replace them.

  • Gaps and misallignment

We’ll adjust doors to ensure they align nicely against the frame again, instantly reducing draughts and stiffness.

  • Broken hinges and handles

We replace broken door hinges and handles, working hard to match to your colour ideal specifications and style preferences.

FAQs

How do I fix my sliding door that won’t slide?
Sliding doors operate on rollers and the bottom, which move across a track as the door is opened and closed. Over time, these rollers can become stiff, form flat spots, rust, or collapse. To get your door sliding like new again, we will replace your old rollers with new ones.

Why does my door have a gap on the side?
If your door isn’t closing square - showing a gap on one or more sides - it could mean the door has dropped. This could mean that the hinges need adjusting or replacing. There can be many reasons for this happening, such as the house shifting or the door being too heavy for the hinges.
